His true fighting prime was around 40 years ago in 1981 and yet he still looks speedy in 2021.

Sugar Ray posted the above video on Friday of him giving 20-year-old social media sensation Blake Gray a pummelling.

He captioned it: “Blake Gray, are you ready to be my next opponent? But no pads next time!”

The youngster was clearly surprised by the power of Leonard’s combination punches as he grimaced during the clip.

In a surprising twist, an old foe of Leonard’s appeared in the comments.

Thomas Hearns, now 62, replied: “I’m ready to be your next opponent. Just call me I’m waiting by the phone… anxiously!”

The pair shared two epic fights in the 1980s, with Sugar Ray winning the first by 15th-round stoppage, while the second was a disputed draw which Leonard concedes he lost.

He replied: “Tommy I beat you first and you beat me in the rematch so what are you suggesting?”

To which Hearns concluded: “Third time is the charm.”
