If the date of birth is printed electronically on their prescription, the person won’t need to provide proof of age when collecting free prescriptions.

People aged 16, 17 or 18 may need to show proof that they’re in full time education to claim a free prescription.

Getting certain benefits can mean a person is entitled to free NHS prescriptions.

That said, a warning has been issued to those who think they may be eligible.
