Kelly, a self-employed hairdresser, detailed she cannot work at the moment given the restrictions in place and as such, she asked Martin if he thought there’d be more grant support down the line.
Martin responded by highlighting that additional grants will be coming within the next few months and he then moved onto his hopes and expectations for the long term: “We’re on self-employed grant number three at the moment, the last applications for that are on January 29.
“As long as you can see there is a significant profit reduction in the period of November to the end of January, and that profit reduction is caused, either by the difficulty in trading due to the pandemic or the fact you were shut down due to the pandemic, (which includes if you were self isolating or you’ve been told to self isolate) or you have to look after your kids, they would all count as legit reasons profits to be down, then you can claim that grant.
“There will be a fourth grant for the period, February [to] April.”
