Liam Gallagher took aim at Liverpool fans after Man City’s European ban was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Monday.
In February, UEFA banned City from its club competitions for the next two seasons due to breaches of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations, while a €30million fine was also imposed.
The Etihad Stadium club insisted they had not broken any rules and took the case to CAS, who announced the ban has been overturned.
While the two-year ban was removed, City have still been forced to pay a reduced fine of €10m.
A Man City statement read: “Whilst Manchester City and its legal advisors are yet to review the full ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the Club welcomes the implications of today’s ruling as a validation of the Club’s position and the body of evidence that it was able to present.
“The Club wishes to thank the panel members for their diligence and the due process that they administered.”
After the results from the hearing, Gallagher, a lifelong City fan, immediately tweeted: “What was that about being banned from Europe sit down P***FLAPS MCFC x.”
The tweet garnered responses from disappointed Liverpool fans who felt City should have been banned from Europe.
Gallagher replied to a section of Reds supporters by calling them ‘p***flaps’.
He had another dig at Liverpool when he dubbed them ‘CHUMPIONS’.
City were unable to win a third successive Premier League title thanks to Liverpool’s dominant form this season.
The Reds lead Pep Guardiola’s men by 21 points with three matches to go.
City are yet to win a European Cup, while Liverpool have triumphed six times in the prestigious competition.
