World champion boxing trainer Dave Coldwell had a strong exchange with a social media troll on Instagram this week.
The coach, who is most famous for his work with former WBC cruiserweight king Tony Bellew, was the recipient of consistent abuse from a young man and so decided to confront him directly.
During an Instagram Live stream, Coldwell invited the man to join him online. He did so, but opted to hide his face.
The trainer then asked the troll: “Where’s your face, b****?
“Put your face on bad boy.”
He replied: “Can I talk, can I speak?”
But Coldwell shut him down: “No, not until you show me your face.
“Show me your face, you f***ing p***y. Show me your face you gutless little b****.
“You bad man in front of all your mates, go on, f*** off you p***k.”
“Time’s up b****.”
The troll, who has since wiped his account, later posted a public apology.
He said: “I’m very, very sorry for threatening Dave Coldwell over the past few weeks on social media.
“I apologise for acting like I’m some sort of gangster threatening him and giving it large in front of my mates on Instagram Live.
“I also apologise for what I said about Dave Coldwell’s 15-year-old daughter.
“I’ve learned my lesson not to troll on Instagram Live again.”
Coldwell responded with the comment: “All sorted.
“A little chat can sometimes educate people and hopefull help them change their attitude.”
