TalkSPORT has learned when British sensation Ben Carter will debut in NXT UK.
The graduate of Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave Wrestling Academy had long been rumoured to have signed for NXT UK before it was confirmed a couple of weeks ago with a vignette during an NXT UK show.
We have been informed that Carter will make his debut with WWE’s UK arm on Thursday, January 7.
Carter, just 22, will appear on Noam Dar’s Supernova Sessions and it will be the WWE Universe’s first chance to catch the innovative star.
Carter was born in Jersey in the UK and only had his first professional wrestling match in August 2018.
It was earlier this year that Carter really started attracting attention after he and Lee Johnson tore the house down on an episode of AEW Dark. He would also face Ricky Starks under the AEW banner.
However, WWE won the race to secure one of the most diminutive and prodigious talents in the world today and he will begin his journey on home shores.
Rollins, one of WWE’s top talents today, comments on the signing of Carter and gave high praise to his former student.
“Ben Carter came to the United States with a dream, and he is living that dream right now because of how dedicated he is. To me, the sky is the limit for Ben Carter; it truly is.
“He is one of the most athletically gifted performers I’ve ever seen, and the way he moves in the ring reminds me so much of the Dynamite Kid and Eddie Guerrero. He’s got so much snap, so much whip. He soaks up information like a sponge. He is always asking questions.
“He could live in a wrestling ring if you let him. So, I think he has all the ingredients to make it to the top.”
Carter has everything to be one of the greatest ever superstars to emerge from the UK and is yet another exciting addition for NXT UK hot on the trail of Rampage Brown.
What lies in store for Carter and what will Noam Dar have in store for the new kid on the block? Tune in to the WWE Network next Thursday to find out, or catch it on BT Sport the day after [Friday].
