Kate Abdo left some DAZN viewers feeling rather embarrassed with an ill-judged comment about Henry Garcia’s SPERM before his son, Ryan, fought.
Garcia stopped Luke Campbell with a savage left hook to the body which crumpled the London 2012 Gold medallist and ended the lightweight battle in the seventh.
Viewers on DAZN were treated to a thrilling fight as the 22-year-old had to climb off the canvas himself, with the entertainment value cranked up when he entered the ring on top of a throne.
However, some fans were left in hysterics when Abdo decided to praise Garcia Sr for producing two excellent fighters, although she went about it in a rather bizarre way.
Interviewing Garcia’s dad before the WBC champion’s fight, Abdo said: “Sean Garcia already fought, Ryan Garcia of course the main attraction.
“You make them pretty, you make them athletic, that’s some good sperm you got there, Sir.”
There was plenty of talking points after the fight as well, with the official scorecards causing controversy. Despite dropping the Golden Boy fighter, one judge only managed to score the second round a 10-9 for Campbell.
As per the rule book, if Fighter A knocks down Fighter B, the round should be scored 10-8 to Fighter A.
But Filipino judge Rey Danseco – who received the Judge of the Year award in 2012 – disagreed.
